Wolfe is the Lone Survivor at Crane Lakes

Port Orange, FL

With a somewhat chilly, relentless northeast wind that blew continuously beginning on Friday at the pro-am, and never let up through the completion of Sunday's final round, Jarred Wolfe of Ponte Vedra, FL managed to carve out a 36 hole total of -2 under to win this years Crane Lakes Invitational needing an Eagle 3 on his final hole to edge out Charlie Delsman and Tommy Schaff by one shot. Jarred's 2-day total was the highest winning score on the Florida Professional Golf Tour as far back as we can remember proving one thing.....at 5200 yds with a par of 66, Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club showed it's teeth this weekend proving to everyone this gorgeous course is not for the faint of heart.

As always, the Golf Course was in fantastic shape, and with some help from mother nature, this little Gem held it's own against some of the best players in the country.
Jarred took home $3,525.00 from the $35,000 plus purse which equaled this years Wildwood Open purse. Not bad for another event that carries only a $300 entry.

Thanks again for the generous sponsorship of Crane Lakes who comped the first 100 players course fees to match the 5k donated by our friends at  Chic-fil-A of Port Orange, totaling 10K in added money.

The FPGTour heads to Candler Hills and On Top of the World for the 2017 Ocala Open.

Congratulations to Willie and Christian.

Wildwood, FL

J.C. Horne of Ormond Beach finished this years Wild Open  Championship ( with one of the largest purses on record) at -15 under par in a 3-way tie with Willie Mack III, and Ashton Van Horne. After two trips down the 18th, a birdie 3 by Horne was good enough for the victory and the $3500.00 first place check. Matt Hill of Bradenton, FL was the over night leader after matching the course record of 61 set by Shad Tuten in last years championship, but Matt stumbled a bit in the final round with a 2-under 70 for a T-7 finish.
Horne opened the Championship with a solid -6 under par 66 and closed with  63 to match match Willie Mack III's score for score while Van Horne shot 64-65.

Thanks go out to the membership of Continental Country Club for their gracious contribution of $5000 to this years purse and also a special shout out to Aubrey Cunningham-Hendershot, my beautiful daughter-in-law, and FPGTour VP  who also matched that $5000 donation making this one of the largest purses ever on the FPGTour for an event with only a $300 entry fee. So the next time you guys take the time to play Continental Country Club, remember to say thanks, or at least drop them a thank you card, and for heavens sake, please say thank you to  Aubrey, who's pretty face is at the registration table every event you play in. I think they both deserve it......

A message from the Tournament Director.....

The FPGTour (also known as The Florida Professional Golf Tour) will soon be accepting applications for membership to it's 2016-2017 Winter Tournament Series. Players are once again reminded that the earlier you join the less you pay to belong.  With our 2016-2017 Winter Tournament schedule nearing completion, this year promises to be one of the best in the Tour's long history which dates back to the Inaugural Riviera Open 56 years ago. As always, the FPGTour continues to offer players a very strong competitive Winter Tournament Program yet remains extremely affordable and is open to anyone in the world.

In addition to our regular tournament schedule, the FPGTour offers Senior Professional's an outstanding opportunity to compete at each and every venue on the schedule including the ever popular 56th Annual Riviera Open, and the 2017 Indian River Open. Both of these events offer a "Separate Senior Division" along with the chance to "Double-Dip" against the young guns if you choose to. The "Senior Division" age requirement for these two events is 50 years of age.

Here are just a few of the Senior professionals and Senior Amateurs who are regular participants on the FPGTour: Mitch Adcock, Dave Rummells, Gene Jones, Kenny Knox, Morris Hatalsky, Tim Balmer, Don Bell,Tom Bryant, Gary Trivisonno, Chris Moore, Regan O'Rourke, Mike Beaver, Beau Baugh, Lloyd Fisher, Bruce Helbig, Mike Lawrence Sr., Kevin Syring, Mark Bucek, Damon Green, Charlie Bowles, Paul Curry, Fulton Allem, Alan Tedder, Peter Serafimoff, Marcus Beck, and of course, our friend, the late PGA Tour Veteran, Mr. Mike Smith.

The list just keeps on going with too many great Senior Professionals and Amateurs to list them all here, but you get the idea.
Don't be one of those guys that complains about having nothing to play in, get up, get outside, and join us this fall.
