Van Horne captures the Thanksgiving Classic

Clermont, FL

After a two and half hour fog delay on day one, a modified start using both 1 & 10 tees allowed the field of 50 to complete their rounds with Alexander Bremner holding the overnight lead by two shots after an opening round of -7 under par 65. Trailing him was Domenic Geminiani and FPGTour newcomer Ashton Van Horne, both with -5 under 67's.

Day 2 proved perfect, at least weather wise with the days low score belonging to Willie Mack III who fired a closing round of 64 to finish T-4 with Brian Davis, both at -7.

Kevin Aylwin and Domenic Geminiani kept things interesting in clubhouse, both finishing the event at -8 under par and waiting to see what the last group would do.

Overnight leader Bremner stumbled a bit and finished T-30.

The event belonged to Ashton who after opening with 67 (which included two eagles in round one) closed with 68 to finish at 9 under par for the tournament. He went eagle, birdie, bogey to finish his round and win by one shot.     Congrats on your victory Ashton. Ashton took home $2000 for his victory from the $11,490.00 purse.

A message from the Tournament Director.....

The FPGTour (also known as The Florida Professional Golf Tour) will soon be accepting applications for membership to it's 2017-2018 Winter Tournament Series. Players are once again reminded that the earlier you join the less you pay to belong.  With our 2017-2018 Winter Tournament schedule nearing completion, this year promises to be one of the best in the Tour's long history which dates back to the Inaugural Riviera Open 57 years ago. As always, the FPGTour continues to offer players a very strong competitive Winter Tournament Program yet remains extremely affordable and is open to anyone in the world.

In addition to our regular tournament schedule, the FPGTour offers Senior Professional's an outstanding opportunity to compete at each and every venue on the schedule including the ever popular 57th Annual Riviera Open, and the 2018 Indian River Open. Both of these events offer a "Separate Senior Division" along with the chance to "Double-Dip" against the young guns if you choose to. The "Senior Division" age requirement for these two events is 50 years of age.

Here are just a few of the Senior professionals and Senior Amateurs who have been regular participants on the FPGTour: Mitch Adcock, Dave Rummells, Gene Jones, Kenny Knox, Morris Hatalsky, Tim Balmer, Don Bell,Tom Bryant, Gary Trivisonno, Chris Moore, Regan O'Rourke, Mike Beaver, Beau Baugh, Lloyd Fisher, Bruce Helbig, Mike Lawrence Sr., Kevin Syring, Mark Bucek, Damon Green, Charlie Bowles, Paul Curry, Fulton Allem, Alan Tedder, Peter Serafimoff, Marcus Beck.
The list just keeps on going with too many great Senior Professionals and Amateurs to list them all here, but you get the idea.
Don't be one of those guys that complains about having nothing to play in, get up, get outside, and join us this fall.
