Nick Lindheim of Sattelite Beach, FL successfully defended his title today at Black Bear firing rounds of 65+66 for a two day total of -13 under par. This is the 3rd straight year Nick has won this event.

After heavy rains forced officials to suspend play in round one leaving 40+ competitors on the back nine, play resumed at 7:45am on Tuesday morning with those stranded on the back side left to clean up their first round, and without a re-pair, allowed the rest of the field to start their 2nd rounds also at 7:45 off the first tee.

All went well and the event finished without a hitch.

Low round of the day came from Chris Brant who finished in 2nd place with rounds of 70-65.

Lake Buena Vista @ Disney

Thursday-Friday Dec. 11-12, 2014

Field Size: 92 Players

Lake Buena Vista

Wow...What a final round....Kinda cold but not for everyone.

Chris Cho of Kent, WA pulled off the come back of year at Disney's LBV course. After firing an opening round of +1 (73) and being two shots out of the money, Chris set his sites on just trying to play well enough to maybe eek out a check from the bottom of the almost $20,000 purse. With all players starting the final round off the 10th tee, Chris turned his front nine in 3 under par carding 33 and now putting him close to his goal of making that check at 2 under for the Championship. But he wasn't finished, in fact he was just getting warmed up.

Things got a little interesting after he made Eagle 3 at his 10th hole, he added 5 more birdies for 29 to fire a closing round of ten under 62. His -9 under par total was good enough for a two shot margin of victory.

He is now the first player ever to be eligible for the OTM 2nd Day event (which for those of you who don't already know) means after round one your not sitting all that pretty as far as making money for this event, anyway, he is now the first person in that position to come from so far behind and actually win the Championship. Quite an accomplishment.

Congrats to Chris on a fantastic final round of golf.

Also, congrats go out to Drew Preston who fired an impressive closing round of -8 under 64 to finish in a 6-way tie for 2nd place.

And as a side note: For those of you who recognize that last name, but can't remember exactly why ....Chris is the younger brother of my dear friend and FPGTour assistant for so many years....Christine

And I'm sure she's smiling in Seattle right now.

He barely edged out Drew Preston of Ada, MI who also had 3 victories and finished 3rd on the money list.
Patrick Sheehan finished the season in the #2 spot on the FPGTour Money list with 2 victories which included the 2014 Ocala Open.

This is important.....

The Florida Professional Golf Tour encourages all prospective professionals to check out what we have to offer when considering where you want to compete this season....We offer great competition on some of Central Florida's finest courses. We continue to provide an affordable playing opportunity during the winter to help you improve your skills without breaking the bank, and still offer you a chance to make some good money in the process.

The FPGTour's  Winter Tournament program paid out more than $1,000,000.00 in Official Money over the past three seasons.

The 2014-2015 Schedule marks the tenth season since the Tour was re-named.....But remember, this year marks the 54th year of operation since the late Bill Meyers started it all at the  Riviera Open.

The Florida Professional Golf Tour welcomes all Professionals and accomplished amateurs, and hopes they will consider the  FPGTour when creating their competitive playing schedules.

A message from the Tournament Director.....

The FPGTour (also known as The Florida Professional Golf Tour) is now accepting applications for membership to it's 2014-2015 Winter Tournament Series. Players are once again reminded that the earlier you join the less you pay to belong.  With our 2014-2015 Winter Tournament schedule nearing completion, this year promises to be one of the best in the Tour's long history which dates back to the Inaugural Riviera Open 54 years ago. As always, the FPGTour continues to offer players a very strong competitive Winter Tournament Program yet remains extremely affordable and is open to anyone in the world.

In addition to our regular tournament schedule, the FPGTour offers Senior Professional's an outstanding opportunity to compete at each and every venue on the schedule including the ever popular 54th Annual Riviera Open, and the 2015 Indian River Open. Both of these events offer a "Separate Senior Division" along with the chance to "Double-Dip" against the young guns if you choose to. The "Senior Division" age requirement for these two events is 50 years of age. All other regular 36-Hole events have a senior age requirement of 48 years.
Here are just a few of the Senior professionals and Senior Amateurs who are regular participants on the FPGTour: Mitch Adcock, Dave Rummells, Gene Jones, Kenny Knox, Morris Hatalsky, Tim Balmer, Don Bell,  Jim Chancey, Gary Trivisonno, Regan O'Rourke, Mike Beaver, Beau Baugh, Lloyd Fisher, Bruce Helbig, Mike Lawrence Sr., Kevin Syring, Mark Bucek, Damon Green, Charlie Bowles, Paul Curry, Fulton Allem, Alan Tedder, Peter Serafimoff, Marcus Beck, and of course, our friend,  the late PGA Tour Veteran, Mr. Mike Smith.
The list just keeps on going with too many great Senior Professionals and Amateurs to list them all here, but you get the idea.
Don't be one of those guys that complains about having nothing to play in, get up, get outside, and join us this fall.
